台北市議員王鴻薇隨後在臉書上指蔡英文總統上任百日，就已換了2台座車，明年又要耗費公帑新台幣2,500萬買車，「果然富家大小姐無誤」。
對此，總統府說明，這是由於現有安全防護車均已逾汰換年限，國安局是依照勤務專業需要辦理採購。
總統府指出，特勤中心基於維護總統安全的必要，歷任總統車隊，自第九任至第十三任，均依照任務需要採購總統「安全防護車」，府方尊重國安單位基於專業的考量與安排。
至於所謂總統上任後「換了3次車」的說法，總統府表示這是刻意誤導。總統府指出，目前特勤中心使用警備車種中，用於總統車隊的編成有AUDI、LAND ROVER兩種車型，前者是2015年11月決標的「第十四任總統副總統維安車隊」採購，休旅車種則是為辦理2016年總統大選，供各組總統候選人擔任維安的車輛。
